Wealth

by Akintunde Abimbola

What life means to many people is not their existence but how successful they’ll become. The essence and purpose of life has been defined but misinterpreted. A colossal number of people out there today run past their destiny because they want to be wealthy and successful at all costs forgetting that we may have chosen our destiny but our fates are different.

What defines life is not how wealthy you are, or how influential you may be. It is how your penchant for doing good continues to linger on in the minds of those you’ve positively affected.

BUT I WANT WEALTH AND I MUST BE WEALTHY
I have seen thousands of people again who have worked hard and failed, but one can’t acquire wealth or be successful in life without hard work. People have tried and failed, for the height that is reached and kept by wealthy men were not achieved by sudden flight. As a matter of fact, no man has ever risen to prominence or become wealthy by complaining and murmuring for there is no shortcut to wealth. Only trial and hard work.

The concept of wealth, however, has different meanings to different people. For some people, WEALTH is having just a nice and blissful home to live in, a comfortable car to drive around town, a sufficient bank balance to meet all expenses, and more than just enough money to see them through life after retirement. For others, it is living in a luxurious fashion in opulence and splendor with tons and tons of money at their disposal. Everyone has their own specific idea of what wealth means and their notion of wealth probably arises from their idea of what they would do if they had all the money in this world. Money and valuable possessions define wealth and it is the nerve of war.

As we all know, everything obeys money, but wealth isn’t necessarily about money. It is more about the wealth that you have within your soul and what comes out through your mouth and heart. The body can be a source of wealth if it is kept healthy because health is wealth. Having talents, brains, or coming from a wealthy home doesn’t guarantee you a rich life but working hard, being patient, and being full of determination is perhaps the most fulfilling way of becoming wealthy.

Work, because even if you marry a monkey for his wealth, the money goes and the monkey remains as he is. The surest ways to build wealth over a lifetime is to spend far less than you make and intelligently invest the difference, but too many people hurt their financial health by failing to differentiate between their “wants” and their “needs”.

What I’ve learned through these experiences is that wealthy families face the same life challenges as other families. Wealth is having enough. But for some people, no matter how much they have, they can’t really be wealthy because they want more than they’ve got. if one dies lonely, of what good are riches then?
