No Longer At Ease – Emmanuel G G Yamba

the best way to tell your story is through art,

in a poem &  watch everyone that passes by read

here, we don’t know how to pronounce pain from peace

because we have never seen this country at ease.

bones that were to grow flesh after the war,

broke in pieces from hunger

your mother say open yourself up to God – pray the suffering

away ; hope for normal days to surface

you’re tire of seeing people that lost during the war

come back (reincante) only in movies on TV .

but there are enough Sauls with hearts stout

persecuting us for being Liberians.
